| Who We Are
The Arts League of Michigan is a community based arts organization supported by a 20-member Board of Trustees comprised
of business, civic, faith-based and community leaders along with a Community Advisory Council of more than 150 members
and hundreds of volunteers.
|
Community Partners
Through visionary leadership and strategic planning, the Arts League has developed an innovative business
model that uses partnerships and collaborations to attract new audiences and to create new "products," i.e.
exhibitions, performances, and programs in our home, the Virgil H. Carr Cultural Arts Center in Paradise Valley.
|
The Vision
The Arts League of Michigan is committed to being the premier
African and African American cultural arts center in the nation.
|
The Mission
Through continuous growth, development and strategic direction, The Arts League has evolved into an organization
with a clear mission to be a "Center which develops, promotes, presents and preserves the African and African American
cultural arts traditions within our multicultural community." The Arts League is recognized as a leadership organization
offering a variety of cultural arts programs, services and activities for both artists and audiences. No small feat for
an organization with very humble beginnings but an expansive passion for serving and supporting the cultural arts.
